QLD SPUR 2018 Review

QLD SPUR 2018 Review

The Queensland SPUR Conference 2018 was absolutely superb.

The theme was “Training for Eternity”.

The 3 day residential conference at Tamborine Mountain started with a bang on Friday September 7th with Geoff Tacon preaching from Titus 1. Geoff pointed us all to the repeated mention of God as “Saviour” in Titus and that God’s big plan for humanity was our salvation.

It was great to see the next generation of QLD speakers preaching Gods’ Word. Derek Hanna (Geneva Push) shared from Titus 2 on Saturday morning and Dave Fowler (AFES Sunshine Coast) spoke on Titus 3. What a blessing.

Dan ______ MC’d and did a sterling job of setting the context of the conference … namely the huge need for gospel workers in Australia and beyond.

There were 99 people there (57 x delegates thinking about a ministry apprenticeship + 8 x apprentices + 3 x theological college student + 31 x trainers).

Every bed at the CMS Site was taken, so the organisers are relocating to a bigger site next door next year.

The delegates all had a one to one “ministry conversations” and there were more “Discussion Groups” this year than in previous years, allowing people more time to process the content & its implications.

If you’re in QLD in Sept 2019 get along to it.

SPUR Conference plays a really key role in multiplying gospel workers through ministry apprenticeships.

One of the most encouraging things was the fact that 8 – 10 people travelled 1,400 km from Townsville to be there. Wow.
