A day on the job….
I’d like to share a story of when God worked so unexpectedly and generously and how that taught me how much He, and not myself, is in control of His ministry.
We had about 60 short term Japanese exchange students visit UNE for between 2 and 4 weeks. We planned to hold an evangelistic event for them, with games and an Aussie BBQ, and a gospel talk, testimony and Q & A in their language. I’d received 12 RSVPs for the event and was excited at the opportunity to share the Gospel.
I’d had a busy and stressful day translating my talk and checking last minute details, and was pretty nervous. When I arrived with other volunteers in the afternoon to pick up the students from their classroom, we found over 40 students had received the advertisement of the event from the uni, and were waiting to be picked up to come! It meant a quick scramble to get more cars and a slightly later start than planned, but we were amazed and thankful that God had exceeded our expectations, yet answered our prayers, and provided so many students to participate in the event and hear the Gospel!
