City on a Hill Geelong | Trainer: David Chiswell

Dear friends and family, I am excited to be embarking on a 2-year full-time MTS ministry apprenticeship based with my home church City On a Hill Geelong. God has had His hands on this moment for many years, and after a long career as an oncology nurse + more recently as a counsellor, in God’s perfect timing we are here! I have volunteered in church in many capacities since childhood, and it honestly feels like a gift to be able to serve in my church full-time and study theology through Ridley College.

I wear many hats – wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, colleague – and I am so grateful for their unwavering support in this opportunity. And I thank you for being on my supporter page and for prayerfully considering financially contributing to this journey as an ongoing sponsor or as a one-time gift. In advance, I appreciate you! I would also be so grateful for your prayer support as I take this step of faith.

The broad areas of ministry I will be focused to are pastoral care, administration support, and service coordination together with commencing relevant theological study. I will also continue to joyfully volunteer and serve as a vocalist in the music ministry and as a Gospel Community host / leader with my husband Russ.

Prayer Points

• God would grow His kingdom through this opportunity – “His kingdom come, His will be done on earth as it is in Heaven” (Matthew 6:9).
• Partnering with God and people to help them encounter Jesus through evangelism and discipleship – “To know Jesus and make Jesus known” (City On A Hill vision).
• God would grow me in faith, dependence, prayerfulness, spiritual gifts and practices, maturity…any way He needs to grow me, let it be so! For His glory, my good, and the good of those around me.
• To be faithful, obedient and to move (and grow) in grace, humility, thankfulness, patience, and God’s wisdom in all circumstances.
• For my husband and children who have faithfully supported this opportunity – may God bless them.
• Time management – aligning time and resources in a way that honor’s God and the different hats I wear.
• That my church would be served well through this apprenticeship and beyond.
