I’m excited and daunted by this new endeavor. I’ve been blessed to come and know Jesus through the grace of City on a Hill, and have been eager to make Him known since. This passion has only grown, as I’ve abided in Him. I graciously was welcomed to complete an internship in 2019 in our church, during my tertiary studies, and later invited to consider this apprenticeship through MTS at City on a Hill Geelong.
What sounds like natural progression, is a far greater deal and commitment than just that. It will require me to act on Christ’s instructions, for us to deny ourselves, pick up my cross, and follow Him.
Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul?
Matthew 16:24-26
As I’ve reflected on this, I know I’ll need to lean on Jesus and my community more for strength and encouragement, than on my own merit. I’m eager for this next step, for the opportunities and engagement within the community around me. For great moments of continuing to sow good seeds, and sharing the good news of Jesus. To intentionally set time aside, to go deeper in study in the Word through the Timothy Partnership program.
I’d really value your support during this next season, whether through lifting prayers, meaningful conversations, or financial assistance. Your involvement would be invaluable in strengthening and encouraging me, would you be willing to partner with me as I take this step?
For Christ,
Josh Sgro

For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.
Galatians 6:8-10
Please partner with me in prayer over the following that rests heavily on my heart.
Your support seriously means a lot to me. Thank you for reading, praying, and spending time with me, on what my next two years will look like.
