City on a Hill Geelong | Trainer: David Chiswell

Hey! My name is Harry, I’m married to the wonderful Jacyntha, and I’m excited to be doing a ministry apprenticeship at City on a Hill Geelong for the next two years.

Though I loved growing up as a pastor’s kid, for a long time I didn’t feel that interested in pursuing ministry. As I grew older though, I started to recognise the enormous need for gospel workers in a world that is so opposed to Christ. Through being involved in uni ministry and my local church, I felt God’s calling to pursue a life of full time ministry, and it has been something I’ve been considering for the last few years. When the opportunity arose to do this apprenticeship, and being particularly convicted at an MTS Recruit conference, I knew it would be the perfect opportunity to experience what full time gospel ministry might be like for me. 

At City on a Hill Geelong, I’ll be especially focusing on the music ministry, something I have been passionate about for a long time. Worshipping God through music is such an important part of church services and the Christian life in general, and I’m super excited to lead God’s people in this in a more official role. 

I am so thankful to God for the opportunity to spend the next two years in full time ministry, and I can’t wait to see how he works through my weakness to achieve his glorious purposes. Thank you for considering partnering with me, whether prayerfully, financially or both – I greatly appreciate it. 

But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. – Titus 3:4-7

Prayer Points

That I can be a loving and sacrificial husband to Jacyntha.

That God will work graciously through me to achieve his purposes.

That all I do will be for God’s glory alone.

That I will be challenged to step outside my comfort zone and that I will grow from these experiences.

That God will be glorified through the music ministry at City on a Hill Geelong.
