Artarmon Anglican Church | Trainer: Jack Wong

Hi, I am Chris and I am grateful to become an apprentice at St Basil’s Anglican Church Artarmon. 

I grew up in Macau and came to Australia during high school. I was always exposed to Christian teachings in school curriculums and some Sunday school events but never fully understood what it implies being a Christian even though I claimed myself to be one. It was at university, the Word of God from Luke 14:27 stroke me in what being a Christian really meant. “Whoever does not bear his own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple.” I repented and was convinced that God has been merciful to my ignorance, and it is necessary to realign myself with Him in response to the great salvation he has offered us.

I worked as an engineer in the medical industry for several years, I see how technology has been a great tool in saving lives and improving standard of living. However at the same time, I also see how technology has its limit, no matter how many lives is saved, if they haven’t been able to hear and put their trust in Jesus Christ, their lives would still be living under God’s wrath. Especially during the past few years, looking at how at every corner on earth people are desperately seeking for solutions, I see how the world is still unclear about their relationship with God, and it is crucial for the gospel to be shared with them as that is the ultimate solution they need.

I look forward to my next 2 years of MTS as I can be more flexible in putting myself into ministry, also to be equipped for all kind of gospel work, and to serve in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.

Prayer Points

• Pray that I can keep growing in love and knowledge, and serve His people with humility. 
• Pray that God will lead me in shaping myself to be a shepherd to His herd, even in difficult times, I can remain and grow further in dependence on God, and be joyfully challenged as I serve Him.
