Hi friends! My name is Aditya Kuthalam but you can call me Ads for short. I’m married to the beautiful Loraine and together with our daughter Eliana reside in Victoria. I am thankful to God for the wonderful opportunity to serve full time in ministry, by doing a 2 year ministry apprenticeship at St Stephen’s Presbyterian Church (Surrey Hills). I’ll be completing the apprenticeship by the end of 2024 and my hope is then to study full time at the Presbyterian Theological College as a Presbyterian candidate for the ministry.
Growing up, I never thought I’d end up doing a ministry apprenticeship. This is because I grew up in a non Christian home and only came to know Jesus in my late 20s. However since God graciously saved me from a life of hopelessness and spiritual confusion, I’ve only experienced his amazing love and the transformational power of his Gospel. As a result I knew there was nothing more I wanted to do, than to spend my entire life sharing and teaching about Jesus to others, which is why I decided to do the apprenticeship as a first step to that end.
At St Stephen’s, I’m being trained by my senior minister, the Rev John Huynh and working with the rest of the staff team. I’ve been given the privilege to serve by running evangelistic programs, organising special events, leading a growth group, teaching at kid’s church and at youth group, doing 1 on 1 discipleship, hospitality, writing up bible studies, service leading, preaching and working on a number of one off projects. However in order to continue doing this work, I am dependent on prayer and financial partnership from the body of Christ. Therefore, would you please consider partnering with me for the sake of making and maturing disciples of Jesus together.
Revelation 7:9-12
9 After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, 10 and crying out with a loud voice, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!” 11 And all the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures, and they fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, 12 saying, “Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honour and power and might be to our God forever and ever! Amen.
– That I would first and foremost continue having a humble dependence on God and be driven by the love of God and his Gospel in my service to others.
– That my Character, Conviction and Competency is thoroughly developed for full time college and full time ministry thereafter.
– That despite the intensity of ministry life, I will continue to prioritise my devotional life in Christ and faithfully and sacrificially love my wife Loraine and my daughter Eliana.
– That with all that I do, it will be for God’s glory alone. Soli Deo Gloria
