Stromlo Christian Church | Trainer: Paul Avis

Hi! I’m Rachel, and I’m so excited to be starting an MTS apprenticeship at Stromlo Christian Church in 2024.

I’m convinced that Jesus Christ is worth following with all that I have. All people need to hear the good news, and for that to happen, we’re going to need many more full-time gospel workers! And so the question: should I be one of those workers?

I’m really keen to spend two years being intentionally trained, equipped, and discipled. I’m also eager to use this time to prayerfully assess, along with the godly and wise disciples around me, whether vocational ministry is something I’m suited to.

I’m praying that over the next two years, God will grow me in character, conviction, and competency, and that He will use me to build his kingdom and glorify His name. To Him be the glory, for ever and ever.

• Praise God for this opportunity to be trained and equipped for a lifetime of serving Him.
• Pray that I will be the first of many apprentices and gospel workers raised up out of Stromlo.
• Pray that I would be deep in the Word daily, prayerfully depending on God and seeking to be shaped by scripture.
• Pray for my trainer, Paul, and for the many others who will be discipling and training me. May they be faithful and wise, guided by Him.
• Pray that I will be bold in preaching Christ crucified, never losing sight of eternity.
• Pray that I will do all things for His glory alone.
