Hi, my name is Nicholas. I am excited to be doing MTS, to grow in my character, knowledge of God’s word and my ability to lead and teach people about God.

I became a christian after moving to Armidale to study medicine. I was blessed to have christian friends in Armidale who were living out their faith and who encouraged and challenged me to think more seriously about what I believed. It was these friends who invited me along to the church on campus at the university and to the christian medical bible study group and who explained the gospel to me for the first time, that I am a sinner whom God offers forgiveness to because of the work of Jesus. Since becoming christian I have slowly grown in my knowledge of God through His word, in my conviction to live for His glory and in my desire to see other people saved. It is for these reasons that I have decided to take two years off medicine to do MTS, so I can be freed up to teach people about God full time, to see others come to know Him as their Lord and saviour and grow in their conviction to live for Him.

During MTS I will primarily be involved in three areas of ministry. I will be leading a growth group, while also overseeing other growth group leaders at the HBC university congregation to encourage them to teach the bible and help other christians mature in their faith. I will be leading a team that organises the HBC life series, a 5 week series designed to preach the gospel to people who don’t yet know Jesus to see them saved and welcomed into God’s kingdom. Finally, I will be involved in kids ministry, teaching kids about Jesus so that they will grow up loving and serving Him with their whole lives.

Prayer Points

Please pray that God would grow me over these next two years in my character, in my knowledge of Him, convictions to live for Him and in my ability to lead and teach people about Him.

Please pray that in all my work over the next two years that I would not be prideful but that I would be humble, desiring to do everything for the glory of God.

Please pray for those that lead me, that they would have wisdom in knowing how to best speak into my life. Especially for Richard Sweatman, one of the pastors at HBC who will be training me over the next two years.

Please pray that through my work over the next two years God would be growing His kingdom and growing disciples who want to live for Him.
