Hi friends! My name is Lydia and I love video games, science fiction movies, and 80s music. I’m so excited to be undertaking a ministry traineeship at my church over the next two years, with a particular focus in Children’s Ministry. Thank you for considering to partner with me in prayer and/or financial assistance – I could not do this without your support!
I grew up in a Christian family and have been at St. James for more than fifteen years. As someone who benefited greatly from the influence of Children’s Ministry in my life, I’ve always had a heart to do the same for younger generations. I believe that the best thing that can happen in a person’s life is to have a personal relationship with Jesus as their Lord and Saviour and that God invites anyone and everyone into His kingdom, no matter how young they are. So it has been one of my greatest joys for the past ten years to serve as a volunteer in various areas of Children’s Ministry, primarily Friday Kids Club and Sunday School, and to be able to lead children to a deeper and genuine understanding of God and the Bible. I’m hopeful that these two years of my traineeship will allow me to receive training in ministry skills and a proper theological education, so that I might grow to be a better disciple of Jesus, a more effective leader in ministry, and a light for God’s glory in everything that I do.
1 Peter 5:2-4
Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, watching over them—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve; not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock. And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away.
