The Point Community Church Port Macquarie | Trainer: Dale Brown

Ahoy there!

My name’s Isaac and I’m doing my MTS ministry apprenticeship at The Point Community Church in Port Macquarie.

A bit about me

I like surfing, coffee, and long walks on the beach with my beautiful wife Bethany and our blue cattle dog Smokey. I studied Arts/Law at Sydney Uni and worked as a criminal defence lawyer at Legal Aid for five years before starting MTS.

Why I’m doing MTS

John 8:32 “And you will know the truth and the truth will set you free.”

I’m passionate about ministry because I believe that Jesus and Jesus alone has the power to break the cycle of sin and death and I want everyone to know the truth about Jesus and the freedom that comes from following him.

Key ministry areas

My key roles as part of my apprenticeship include:

  • Youth Pastor – Leading The Point’s Youth Ministry Team which runs Pointy J (our youth group which meets on Friday nights) and ‘D-Teams’ (small group bible studies for youth which meet on Sundays).
  • Point Group Coach – Leading a bible study and coaching other bible study leaders
  • Community Area Leader – Running events for arvo church and overseeing the hospitality team.

You can support me through prayer, encouragement, and giving.

Prayer Points

Praise God for:

  • A great first term of Pointy J – We’ve had about 50-70 kids from years 6-12 come each week, many of whom don’t come from church families. We’re also blessed to have a great group of creative and enthusiastic youth leaders who make it all happen.
  • The year 5-6 SRE class I teach on Tuesdays who are interested in the story of the Bible and always have a ton of great questions.

Please pray that:

  • D Teams would really take off this year.
  • Many more Port Macquarie teenagers would put their trust in Jesus and live radical disciple-making lives for the rest of their days.
