Hunter Bible Church | Trainer: Jo Clark

After much prayer, pondering and decision-making, I have decided to put a pause on my work as a paediatric occupational therapist. Over the next two years, I’ll be doing a Ministry Training Strategy (MTS) Apprenticeship with Hunter Bible Church in Newcastle.

I grew up on a dairy farm in the beautiful country town of Dorrigo. I moved to Newcastle to study an occupational therapy degree in 2017 and joined Hunter Bible Church (Unichurch) shortly after arriving in Newcastle. I have been blessed to have many people at Hunter Bible Church minister to me over the 5 years I have been a member of this church. I have been privileged to read the bible weekly with several lovely women who have encouraged me to serve Jesus with my whole life, patiently listened to my concerns and faithfully pointed me back to God’s word. This apprenticeship will allow me to spend more time reading the bible with more women from around church and I am praying that I would model Christ-like love towards these sisters.

I will have the privilege of serving in a variety of different ministries which, God willing, will grow my character, convictions and ministry competencies. I will be trained and mentored by Jo Clark, a wise and godly women’s pastor from church who I will meet with each week to read the bible, pray and chat. Jo will care for, guide, teach me through all stages of my walk with Christ and ministry journey, providing me with regular feedback, encouragement and correction.

I want to give ministry a go because it is a privilege and a joy to serve the Lord with our whole lives. There is a great need for Christians to reach and serve gospel-poor regions of Australia and beyond by going into full-time ministry. God willing, I would love to be a woman who is serving Jesus with my whole life. I pray that I would make bold decisions for the sake of the gospel and use the skills God has equipped me with through MTS to serve him and his church where there is a need.

Prayer Points

• Please pray that I will grow in my trust in and reliance on God and His Spirit as I face many challenges and obstacles during MTS.
• Please pray that I would continue to work on my personal relationship with God by diligently reading the bible and coming to God in prayer.
• Please pray that God-willing, He would work through me to bring people to know, trust and have a relationship with Christ.
• Please pray that God might give people generous hearts to prayerfully and/or financially support me.
• Please pray for the people of Newcastle and Lake Macquarie, that they will come to know and love Jesus!
• Please pray that God would raise up Christians to go into full-time ministry across gospel-poor regions of Australia and beyond.
